Young Offenders Programme Update

We are very excited to announce that our Young Offenders program is beginning this term. Following a grant from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, we have been able to implement a smaller version of our big vision for working with young offenders. We have funding to take 4 young offenders, once a week, for 28 weeks. We will be working with the York Youth Offending Team, and are really looking forward to the challenge.

This is a vitally important opportunity for us to reach out and make a difference in these young people’s lives. They will be coming to the farm for one day a week, and during that time will work on practical skills in our workshop and in the polytunnels. Providing that they complete the 28 weeks we will be able to provide them with a reference to help them get a job or apprenticeship if that is the next best step for them.

Please pray for this project as it gets underway. Pray for the instructors, that they would have the necessary strength of character to help these young people. Pray for our working relationship with the York Youth Offending Team as it grows and develops. Most importantly, pray for the young people who come to us. Pray that they would believe that they are worth something, and that they would take this opportunity to make a new start.

Thank you as always for your support.
